That's almost exactly what I do. Same brass tumbler, walnut shells, and I use Brasso (just a little).

Years ago I had a rifle I made from a British Enfield carbine barrel and action, which is .303 caliber. The only factory loads for that caliber are for rhino and elephant, so I started making my own, hence, the old brass tumbler. The rifle was stolen decades ago, and I still have all that junk I reloaded with.

Thanks bibbster! I use 1/8" ceramic media and Dawn. But, need to get something a bit better. gascarnut told me he uses this. http://www.buffaloarms.com/Cart.aspx but the shipping cost as much as the cleaner. may have to bite the bullet though. May have to try the brasso waaytoo. Never thought of that.

First couple coats of primer on. Got a little fill work to do and hit it with the 800 again. Time to Git-R-Done.

First complete test fit. Seems good to go. Soon as body is finished in primer figure out where to put pin mounts and make a lead holder. Liking it so far.

I am finally back online with a keyboard and a way of posting photos again. Now once I get clearance from the surgeon to load either arm with more than 10 pounds of pressure, I can start doing slot car stuff once again. That will make me much happier.

I am very interested in the method you will use to attach the body to the pans.

One thing I have been thinking of is something that will attach to the body and fit into a receptacle on the chassis. Think HRS2 chassis style mount. I want to keep from sticking pins through bodies, unless of course I am mounting up a lexan body.

You could try this:



The plates have two small nuts soldered to each, and they are glued to a piece of heavy foam, which is then glued to the body sides. I use bits of heavy weatherstrip foam for this. Then the pans have two countersunk holes each:



I used 2mm screws on this one i think, but 2-56 size will work fine as well. Just don't go much bigger, as it is difficult to get the head countersunk enough to be level with the underside of the pan.



Then you can adjust how much pan movement you want by how tight the screws are.
