If it isn't too much nostalgia for him, you should talk to David Reinecke. He has a long, long history with the love of Chevelles. My aunt had a '65 SS 327. When she traded it for a '67 Camaro SS, the Chevelle had never been over 70mph. She sold the Camaro to my cousin's new husband who was an idiot who jacked up the rear end and slammed it into a phone pole in a week.
The wealthy boys at my school got cars for High School graduation, and all but three got brand new '69 Chevelle Malibu SS 396. Most beautiful cars Chevy ever made for my money. I dated a girl who had a yellow convertible. I am not entirely sure whether it was her or the car that turned me on more. It was close.
