"On a slightly different note. I've been working with Bill Thomas Jr. for more than a year now on approvals for the newest decorations of his father's car. Bill Thomas Jr. has been racing Cheetahs for decades now, he is not only the keeper of his fathers legacy but an active participant in keeping the car alive and raced. I talk with him every few weeks it seems, last week in fact to get approvals for the next 2 Cheetahs we have in the pipeline that will be coming out. He gets samples of each deko and is VERY happy with the Carrera models and he races them with his grandkids and family. We have worked with him every step of the process from body shape to decoration. He have personally signed off on every critical aspect of these cars. And to date this is the ONLY approved Cheetah since the 60's that's been produced"
THAT is the kind of work that deserves recognition. For me it adds so much more appeal to a simple model knowing the work that went on behind the scenes.
It is simply a catch 22. Fine scale enthusiasts want accuracy, the racer wants compatibility. Sometimes we get both, sometimes not.
Carrera has made the best Cheetah for me, no contest.
And Paul..."Bolt-On Ready". I like that. These along with the one Dickie made just shows that the racer will easily figure out how to tune them.
