When I was 6-8 I lived in Madison IL, I used to get drug around on Sat. mornings with my brother-in-law Jerry, he raced at all the hobby shops in East St.Louis,He raced cars you would buy as kits and tune them up with parts that the shop stocked, we are talking 1970-1972,in 2nd grade we moved from the city out to a small town in MO, I had a few HO sets but they was nothing like what was being raced at the shops fast forward 30 years, when my twins turned 7 I built the 40th anniversary track from Carrera on a 8 X 8 table, I have been back in the hobby for close to 10 years my first tuning was just add a magnet from Radio shack, then I learned to true tires on a skid pad, the longer I raced the more my tuning evolved and the more tools I needed, then I built a brass chassis, wow what fun.
I think most of us kind of go through the same growing curve as we stay into the hobby.
This write up here should help anyone getting into the hobby and us guys that are still learning how.
Thanks for the time and effort you put into this great reference guide Harry :text-bravo:
