Tonight, the paint is done, and the clearcoat is so good, the photos show my reflection with the camera in them. I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel at last.

Its named for the Bourbons, but it came along long after they were founded in the 13th Century. There is quite a debate over who started it. I lean toward New Orleans, not only because I like New Orleans, but Bourbon Street in the French Quarter is only one of dozens of 100+year-old places and things that were named for the French family that ruled in France, Spain, Italy, England, and what became Germany. There are those who say it was named for the county in Kentucky where almost all of it is made to this day (Bardstown is in Bourbon County).

The difference between real bourbon and the crappy cheap stuff is greater than the difference between decent wine and that which is served in a bucket. Somehow, it is better to be a little snooty about whiskys of all kinds.

Any of it is darned expensive here due to import taxes. And the domestic whiskey producers are all boutique in the extreme.

Still, I prefer my whiskey from malted barley. Single malt Irish by choice but I'll live with that peat dried stuff if I have to. ;)
