Jaguar XKR GT2

On my last trip to Sacramento, I picked up a “white body” Scale Auto Jaguar XKR GT2. With limited spare time, it has taken me a while but the project is finally completed. I have not yet decided whether or not to mount the wing. It would make the car more realistic but the high weight would impact handling. In testing without the wing, the car is about .1 second per lap slower than its GT1 counterparts. The chassis, a Scholer and motor, Falcon 7, were the same used for my Porsche 962 (legal for our GT1 class). It is not surprising that the Jaguar is a bit slower – it is quite a bit taller than other GT1 cars including the 962. Below are a few images.

Below is an image of the actual Jag racing car. The Scholer chassis has adjustments for front and wheel height. The chassis this car is mounted on was built for a Porsche 962 (which has smaller wheel openings). Also, it is about time to install new rear tires because those shown are worn. In addition, the wheel inserts are made from the 962 kit. See images of my 962s below as well - One body was a "pre-painted" BRM the other started life as Tamiya model kit that was then painted and decaled.

Completely different Jag. I never saw the one you did that matches the photo. Any idea which one came first?

Sorry, I don't know. They may even be cars run the same year in different classes - just can't say
