I hadn't thought of doing that. I was thinking I might use a dentist's type burr to make a rough rout, then clean up the outer edges with a razor. Seems to me that my way is more like rolling the dice and the framing idea is better.

I was just thinking it was time to tell Dave how great this body is, and the conversation had turned that way before I got back. Whether by design or accident, everywhere I need a little depth to sand against for shaping, there it is in just the right spot. This really is something special, Dave. Its hard to imagine how fast you picked this stuff up. I still have some of the original experiments you did when you first began casting, and I have every intention of using every one of them in one way or another.

In other news, I'm about to go face the music and figure out this oil cooler grill opening, too. I'll check in later after the crisis.

The bar has been raised! OMG Go Rusty. I don't have any mesh that fine will look for something around the house other than cutting out some window screens... Oh wait the fine mesh flour thingy I t he kitchen. I'll have to buy another one soon before the mrs finds it MIA...

H O L Y Cow guys! You've been waaaaaaaaay busy on the bodies!
I have been focusing on the chassis so that I could maybe start running some laps with it (with out the body) this week to "get a bit of a feel" for how it is going to run and address anything "major" I might see before going to work on the body mounts etc.
But it looks I have some catching up to do on the body side!

Todd I usually do the chassis first too. But, this time I'm a little more worried about these fancy decals not liking my clear coat. Figured I better do the body first just in case I gots to get another set. :lol:
