A fair bit of progress made on the Pits. I've had to wait for the Hobby Shop to restock in order to complete the flooring under the canopy. I'll finish up tomorrow and it will be ready to be installed on my track.
I've had to make some modifications to the latter to accommodate the building. Pit Row is two feet long and serves six cars, so I needed to carve out the landscaping for vehicle access, parking and the building itself. The original landscaping was done with rigid pink styrofoam which I excised with a craft knife and a small pry. Backfill and levelling was done with 20 minute drywall compound. I love this stuff. The whole appearance of the track can be modifed in an afternoon.
Anyway, here are a couple of preliminary shots of the structure. More to come once it's staged on the track. The roof is done with corrugated craft paper and cut into 4 X 8 sheets (thanks Ember) and joists are 24" OC. The structure is all scale 2X4 studs consistent with the temporary nature of these structures. Decking and bench top are scale 1 X 6 planks.
