I tend to overly complicate things and always want to make it perfect, It does look pretty good and very happy with it. I'll get back into the groove of airbrushing. A fellow buddy at work said he had a Badger air brush he was going to give me, might be a good excuse to upgrade to a better compressor.

Yes, clear over the decals will make it pop and look nice. I'm going to let it dry overnight and then start getting the decals on later this week. I had to re-print these too sans orange background, there was absolutely no way I was going to match the orange color on the 911 that I printed previously on the decals!

I did some investigative reasearch sluething up Tamiya Acrylic paints and several airbrushing have mentioned using the Tamiya Lacquer thinner (or store bought) to mix 1:1 with Tamiya X-20A thinner—makes the orange peel go away and lays down butter smooth. So, cut the X-20A with lacquer, then mix 1:1 with paint; 10 drops lacquer, 10 drops X-20A, 20 drops Tamiya acrylic paint. I'll try that ratio next. I might also have been spraying it at rattle can distance and could have been slightly drying before hitting, need to reduce the paint flow. I'm going to stick with my Tamiya Spray-Work airbrush and just learn it. The orange peel really isn't that bad at all, but as soon as clear is sprayed on it will exemplify it. I'm planning to take Dave's advice and lightly color wet sand with 1500.

The updated set of decals came out real nice too. I removed the orange background and re-printed the numbers and other stuff on white decal paper, black typography (Milestone Racing, Crew Chief, yadda, yadda) on clear decal paper. Those that ordered, I'm sending out a new set no charge.

Sorted out the Tamiya Spray-Work airbrush, paint mixture was fine. Fortunately, I had some remaining amount of orange mixed. I just needed to reduce the paint flow (used adjuster) and get closer. Added another coat and looks much better.

A couple different lighting shots of the decals on, Krylon clear tomorrow and then painting window frames, assembly of driver, interior, turn indicators, headlights, etc.

The chasses are in the works now; slim can (FF0050 and FC-130), so it will be great to see how the two match up together; all pre-testing and shipping out to Alexis in Greece for the Pony Wars Proxy on the 20th.
