How do you shoot real flake and have it lie down? It seems that when I try, the flakes stick on edge and not flat. Need more air pressure? 35 lbs and Iwata airbrush. . .

Foamy,
I used whatever pressure the airbrush compressor sprays at. I have no clue. Probably between 20 to 30 lbs. When I did this one I had the paint fairly thin and I just kinda never stopped spraying. I did the top, moved to a side then front, other side, rear. By the time I was done with the rear I just started all over again. That's the cool thing with nail polish is that it dries fairly quick. Another thing that will help is get a bit closer. Turn your pressure down to where the paint will come thru the airbrush. Then get fairly close and start spraying. I was at the most 4 inches away from the body.
If you mix your own, Go with the Micro Flake. I think it's like .004. I know they have a flake that is .008. Do a google search for FLAKE PAINT you should find several companies including ROTH. The Roth site also sells rattlecans pre mixed with the stuff. It's expensive though.
