Fixing the Ninco Pole Position Timer

Postby ddyke » Fri Sep 20, 2013 4:40 pm

It is a nice timer for Ninco sets but they have problems on occasion.

Fixing them is in part knowing what is wrong. I got a bunch of returns and have tried to fix them. Most problems are in the sensor track. Take the bottom plate off (3 screws). Then remove the melted ends of the two plastic posts that hold the little electronic board in place and pull the board out. There are two common problems and they are easy to fix.

#1 The black wire breaks inside. I am assuming it is the ground. Why does it break? I don't know - leave me alone, I just know it does. Man am I cranky.

#2 The emitter and the receiver are not lined up. Make them both perpendicular. They look like little posts.
