Umm...yes.

I finished the chassis.

It is running and seems to be ok.

I made a big boo-boo with the body. I gave it a second coat and set it outside. Then got sidetracked like I usually do and our wonderful, blazing hot Missouri sun "worked" it's magic on it.

It looks like an old hammer now to be sure. Not proud of it, but it is going to race. Hey, the upside is there is no tweak in it anymore :)

Ah, those were the days... and the girls and I are all grandparent age now, maybe great grandparents. Gravity is a b*tch. Think pendulums, and tree trunks...

After all the crazy weather this year, you picked the day when the sun was blazing? I know how you feel. I've been there.

Not only did I pick a bad day...I forgot about it.

For all of 10 minutes.

Won't be expecting ...but I'm going to be stubborn and finish it anyway.

Well, I finished it but it almost finished me :)

Not perfect and no award winner. I wanted a Saturday Night Special and that is just what I got...so I'm happy.

Bottom line is that it runs great and will join the rest of the field easily.

These resin bodies are amazing aren't they - the way they snap back from a distorted shape to almost their original form.

Looking good, sir, and giving me some more ideas to appropriate.

To most of us Harry, we would be proud if our cars turned out like this under normal conditions!!!

Really like the front headlight covers!!!

What is the material you used and what are the rivets?

I agree Dave I like the way he did the wheels. Good looking car, you should be happy the way it turned out. Jim

Thanks guys.

The front covers are pieces of a playing card. I like using cards as they are easy to spray paint, cut and will not break. The rivets are just a "dot" with a Sharpie fine point.

The wheels are sprayed flat white. 2 coats. Then I use thinner and some gloss black and with a small brush, drop the paint inside the wheel. I spin the wheel slowly by hand and let the thinned paint go around the inside. While It dried I used a Q-tip and placed it dead center and spun the wheel again to lighten it and give it a worn look.

As light as that body is, I'm thinking that rascal will just about fly. How is it in the turns?

Finally home...

So, after all the drama of the Missouri blazing sun, this is how it turned out? I'm with Jeremy...even if I planned to build this car, it wouldn't turn out this good.

This thing is unbelievably cool. Everything from the sinister color, the monster wheel/tire combo, to the radiused wheel wells, to the very cool aluminum work in the grille area.

Simply put: this thing is SICK. Keep these builds up, and PDR will be routing an oval...you B@$&*^#!!!
