This was one of those "I wonder if I can?" moments. The original wheel is slightly bigger than the standard 17's will take.
So I sanded the inner rib down and this will split the wheel. Then I had to hand sand the outer edges. I started with a Dremel, but it got close and I went to hand sanding.

I noticed the brake rotor detail on the other half and thought maybe it could work too. I sanded it until it slipped in and then used my cut-off disc in the Dremel and sliced it off. I had to sand the back of it for the right thickness so when I put the wheel insert inside that it seated properly.

Came out pretty good I think.

Using one of the new tires Paul makes. It is slightly taller so you can sand the diameter down where you like it.
Should work out ok. More tuning yet to come.
