Zipper Top Proxy Builds

What brand of model kits are you all using? I bought a 1/32 LifeLike '57 Chevrolet on Ebay and it finally arrived yesterday and it is way too small to consider using. It must be closer to a 1/35-1/38 range as I would have to cut almost an inch out of the wheelbase let alone overall length and width.

These are Gunze Sangyo kits Rico. At least mine and a few others are.

My 57 Chevy was a stock Carerra that went under the knife. The Impala was a convertible out of the box, Revell Im pretty sure, but I threw out the box so cant say 100%

My 57 Ford was a Revell (snap kit, I think). It was a hardtop. Mark posted a picture early in the original proxy thread of several differernt model bodies that were available, including the 57 Ford.

My Revel kit is identical to the Gunze Sangyo and Mr. Hobby kits. Mine is very old. The box art is so similar, they must be new names on the same kits, although I never heard of these new names.

Steve, great save on the kit buddy it looks really good. I must say, there has been a much larger turnout of participants then I would have predicted. Everyone is doing a super job on your respected builds. Also, everyone seems to be following the creed nicely. Kudos to you all :clap:

Here is my second entry.



This one fought me a little. Number decals were old and gave me fits. Not perfect by a long shot but it will race.



Thanks Mark for the kit and contingency decals. They were the only ones worth using!

It runs ok, we will see how it fares in the hands of the pros :)

the 57 is just great man, if you would have only been around to pit those guys. Maybe you would have perfected the flap idea early on. Who would of ever thought to use sun visors for aero flaps for any reason. :doh:
