How about thinning the sides around the wheel wells and then a little stretching? Just have to be careful not to do too much. Don't use a Dremel, use an Xacto blade and scrape it away. I like to make pencil marks and use tape to keep me in the area I'm working in. That way I don't slip and take out our gouge something else.

I'd rather cut up the chassis, which is less risky and cheaper to replace. This resin is a bit brittle, too. I'll have to thin the fenders a bit, naturally, but that won't be enough on its own.

Bkrownd, I have that same body in my "to be done" pile, I'm shooting to do a "what if" 1957 La Carrera car. Looks like it will make a very different zipper!

Looking good so far! You can bend the roll bar from brass rodd pretty easily, and you can use a pencil to bend it over for uniform curves. There's no need to go crazy with a whole cage like I did. It really isn't right in my car anyway. In 1960, the Pettys more or less invented the full cage. Others just had a U shaped piece of pipe with lots of reinforcing and welds. Some also had back braces coming from the top corners to the rear floor. Good luck!

my newest addition :grin:
both chassis are a great fit wheelbase wise, with some frt/rear chassis trimming they fit just fine body wise.Zipper top is molded in, as is the headlight covers.

What kind of material are people using for roll-cages? Modelling tube? Donor model kits? Lollipop sticks?
