My grass needs cut and the basement floor is due for a repaint if you need something to do besides crank out models at a record pace, making me look even lazier than I am!

Strip it. I don't like saying it but you are going to have to start over completely.

So about 6 hours in some cleaner, then another 6 hours to dry. Then new primer which has to dry for 24 hours at least.

At least 36 hours minimum :)

Detail Master sells a sanding assortment that has turned many of my orange peal disasters into glassy smooth finishes. I originally thought the price outrageous but this product is worth every nickel to me. I am a repeat buyer. I'd recommend that before dipping and stripping.

Regarding the Fairlane: as a kid I was a huge Tommy Houston fan who raced a '65 Fairlane regularly against local rival Harry Gant and his '57 Chevy in the Late Model Sportsman division at Hickory Motor Speedway back before either were famous. Have never found a satisfactory photo of that car so I could duplicate.

I've used there products before. Still use them now and again. Actually got the paint pretty smooth with some 4ought steel wool. shot a new coat of red on it then it fell off the paint stand. No biggie, I'll straiten it out tonight. I think Harry has a voodoo preistest casting spells on me. :lol:
