Just in from Pioneer headquarter via Facebook:

The first Camaro shipment will leave the UK factory in 2 weeks.

Yep its true. Pioneer will unleash their first UK offering in the shape of a Matt Black Stealth SS Camaro 21k Motor in two weeks time. Cars entered final assembly Thursday May 16th GMT, and we cant wait. It has been a massive feat but with the help of British manufacturing and production it will be the first slot car made in the UK for approx 40 years.. We believe the best yet!!!

The second car will follow shortly and will be the 'Sunoco' car. Production will gain momentum and cars will be released in succession with Alan Green and others to follow.

In future all cars announced will be released within days/weeks of announcement.



Pictures of the production car are expected to be available over the next few days.

I would expect them to be filtering out to everyone at the same time. Not heard from Jules himself.

Im reliably informed that ex-British Leyland employees have been used to hand craft the new Camaros. So we know the quality will be high. :D

I'm very happy to hear of the progress, but...

The fact that the "stealth" car is coming first has me worried. Does this mean that the others are still having paint masking issues and this is the easy way to pop out some product? I assume so, as this entire ordeal had to have been insanely expensive.

I have the Donahue and Green cars on pre-order and really want those. If the Donahue is delayed and the Green car is sometime later, I may not get my cars until who knows when?

Hey, that's great news!

I'm just speculating here but my guess would be the black matte car is easier and quicker to produce and will generate some income for Pioneer after many months without much revenue. I've been anxiously awaiting the Sunoco Camaro and some of the other race liveries but I think the Camaro will look particularly good in "stealth" colors and I'll probably pick one up.

Hey David, why worry? :) After everything Jules has been through to get the Camaro out, it's pretty clear he WILL get the Sunoco out. :D

I think he's stuck to it this long all of the Camaros will come out. Let's face it, if was going to give up the ghost he would've done so before the relocation to the UK.... Or when he was struggling to find a fine enough resolution printer to handle the tampo...

But no one can argue that there is a rather desperate need to get some product in front of purchasers again.

Pioneer Stealth Camaro Proxy anyone? Tuned up stock chassis and 'crate' motor spec with steel wheels, upgraded axles and gears, and Paul Gage or Super Tires. Make 'em look like they just got towed into the pits at the local quarter mile bull ring on a hot Friday night in July 1975.
