I found it interesting that in the tuning tips it tells you to angle the motor up to improve gear mesh. I thought these were offset gears. I do agree that a milder motor really makes a difference in driveability. My Yellow Cheetah came with a different motor that seemed to be a lower RPM and it is a major improvement. Not that much slower than the standard motor either.

Scott I picked up a MRRC Cheetah and followed these tuning techniques and it's a honey. I really like the M/T slim line in this chassis and when you angle the motor you can actually hear when the mesh as it is getting better. Jim PS I like this car a lot.

Scott, MRRC stopped using offset gears. None of the latest cars I have from them have them. They use the standard gearing.

The biggest issue is the gap the unsleeved motor leaves. Too much free-play and it will eventually lead to gear failure.
