Pretty simple stuff, right? :D ...Looks nice!..If it bounces to much, you can always tru the tires and wheels.

What's great about these is that they aren't "blindingly" fast..They're fast enough to make an interesting race that you can WATCH...As you can see by the first few pages of this thread, the variety of realistic looking cars is endless (for cheap money).

Yeah, I know the blower is waaaayyyy to big. Don't care... :lol:

Sweet. Have you done the Mongoose & Snake Funny Cars? I looked on ebay & there are a lot of different versions of the HW for sale, I'm just not sure though if some of the releases are better than other for slot purposes. I want to do the classic yellow & red cars. Thoughts?

I haven't done those two. Prices are all over the map for those cars. Some of the early ones look very "toyish", and cost the most. This seems to be a bargain for those two.

There are ways to make anything a slot car..I like the AW 4 gear chassis...Forum member "HO Big Rigs" likes using Tyco TCR (he does some nice work).

That's what I was kind of thinking too. That set looked pretty good so I think that's what I'll go with. Will let you know how they are when I get them.

If by chance the wheelbase is to long for an AW 4 gear chassis, there's an easy way to "marry" the diecast front end to the slot chassis...I guessing it will fit the AW on the longest wheelbase setting.

So the 4 Gear chassis has pre-drilled holes in it to adjust the wheelbase?

I ordered these tonight. Best price I've seen on the Mongoose/Snake set. They may take a month to get here but they should be the same exact cars. :)
