It's a pity, SCX were well and truly on the boil there for awhile, I honestly hope they get themselves worked out soon and produce models that have genuine appeal for those of us outside Europe.

One positive I noted the other day was that Armchair Racer in Sydney had the RK-42 motor listed as a spare part, I think that was a good thing!

I agree totally on that!

The Mark II Escort is one of my favorites and SCX did an excellent job with it.

Don't know how that will pan out though, my understanding was that it was initially a "commissioned" model by the distributor of SCX in the UK.

Hopefully we will see more of them in the future :)

As much and all as I don't need a third MGA that one is just so pretty I will have to buy it somewhere along the line. And I really want a Pat Moss car... and I love the Alpine... But, can I really deal with a pink Alpine?

Has anyone seen the new green MGA or pink Alpine for sale outside of the UK? Are these two new cars UK only releases?

The reason that I ask is that my local hobby shop ordered for me the new MGA back in October. After being on back-order for almost five months, it arrived yesterday and I went to pick it up today. Even though they ordered the green one, the old white Monte-Carlo version is what was shipped. When they checked their distributor again, the new green MGA was no longer listed.

Yep. I passed on it after really looking forward to it, but they did one of those stupid "special" crap deals for a pointlessly jacked up price. Very disappointing from this manufacturer. Nothing is more sure to kill the customer base than flopping out these "collector" specials that piss off the vast majority of buyers and overcharge a few who are willing to be taken advantage of. If I was in retail, I'd refuse to stock them.

As you may be aware, things are a bit awry with SCX at the moment. Although a new toy company bought the slot business when Technitoys got in strife, there is now a legal battle afoot over the Scalextric name which SCX use in Spain. All stems from long ago when original owners were manufacturing on behalf of Scalex. Anyway the point is the new owners have bought a business and now have to fight to use the name of the business they bought.

There is not a lot of normalcy going down at SCX currently.

I ordered the MGA from Hot Slots this morning. I can't wait to get this model. I have the white rally version, so this will make nice companion. The white MGA is a very enjoyable car to drive, and the headlights may be the best in the business. A white 1959 MGA was my first 1:1 car, way back in 1966.

I received my MGA "Lund" today. I ordered from Hot Slots. I asked them to hold it until I could send a money order and that was no problem. The car looks great. Harry, give them a call. I am sure you won't be disappointed.
