I'm trying to find out what to use to remove the chrome plating myself. I've had someone suggest chlorine bleach, but I don't have any. Looks like I'll have to grab some when I brave the heat outside and head to the supermarket.

I use meths to strip paint from the body. I'll try the chrome parts in meths and see what happens. Thanks Greg.

I picked up some bleach at the supermarket last night in the cool of the evening. Now.... Let's see how many things I can spill it on.

Started work painting up the driver. Head is completed, but body needs more work. The blue on his coat is too blue. I will grey it off further. He's getting there though.

Well.... The interior is finished.



I'm quite happy with it.

All the chrome has been successfully stripped ready to start again.

Yes, my wife too thinks I've gone a bit goofy with all these slots. But as an illustrator, sculptor and architectural designer, she is gaining a better appreciation for the hobby after seeing your work.

Finally got around to putting this one back together. I had been repairing and re-chroming the shiny bits with BMF but, wasn't happy with the finish I was getting. I also had to remake the tail lights. I have another 3 of these Jags stripped ready for repainting, so decided to use the shiny bits from one of them so that I could call this one finished.

I love it! Great color combo- it's very similar to one of the Ninco Ferrari 166 releases. The rear wheel covers are seamless. Fantastic job! :clap:

I saw this over on FB this morning.....came out fantastic. I know a bunch of us were waiting to see this finished. I have a Ninco 120 waiting for a repaint.....I think you've relit the fuse. What are the wheel inserts you used on the front? Again, great work (as usual)!

The inserts are BWA steels. They and the wheels are supposed to be available from D'Art Hobbies. But the wheels are constantly out of stock.

I've got three more of these to do. Trying to decide what to try next.
