MRRC 911's chassis build

Got some parts today to build twin chassis for these puppies. Going try out these minnows with 10/27 gearing rolling on 15x7's all around and Quick Slick shoes on the rear. Using .055 wire for this build. Along with eliminating the interior and going with a flat tray. Mini drill press should be here sometime tomorrow and I'll get the motor mounts made. Then I can fire up the iron.

Got a good start on the first chassis and the wire and brass cut for the second today. Start soldering the second one up tomorrow morning and then start figuring out body mounts and cutting side pans. Hoping they are rolling Sunday.





This little puppy made life easier making motor brackets.

That's a slick-looking drill press. I guess everything gets prettier as time goes on. But you are definitely set up for good work. Me and my antique-looking tools look forward to some good stuff from you.

I agree with his majesty, that’s an interesting drill press.

Not to ignore the build, looks very good. But some of us are easily distracted, and new power tools do that.

Thanks Harry and waay, Works good for what I need it for. Definitely not made for steel it lacks on the power side. But, does brass fine and is pretty quite I was surprised. Has three speed ranges and variable speed control. I had to chuckle when I pulled from the box. Weighs 12 lbs. and 13.5 inches tall. It's all cast iron except for the pulley cover and switch housing. Found it on the bay. They had it priced for 65$ with make an offer so, I made'em a 55$ offer. :banana-dance:

Those chassis are coming along nicely.

Knew you'd miss your old Micro Mark drill press, but the new one looks just fine for light duty tasks.

Thanks Dan! Yeah it don't have the power of the micro mark that's for sure. :) Does what I need it to do though.
