HRW,

I was looking at some of the posts on soldering, lindberg-pyro kits and sprint cars builds.Listed
above is some of my junk and what I did with pyro kits. The sprint car along with the others are all
scratch built;brass, music wire, soldered with 60/40 solder using acid flux. The bodies are either
lexan or pteg; .020, .030 and the wings are made out .010 lexan. The chipmonks I race with have tor-
tured these cars and raced them hard. They hold up and handle fairly well. motor and gearing depends
on the track.
I want to thank Harry for a great big assist on posting pic's . The puter gives me a rash and I'd much
rather be building and racing then pecking at this here machine! Thanks for looking and I will try
and answer any questions. I have more pic's.
I started making wheels as seen on the front of sprinter. All cars are 1/32 home scale size.

Confused,
FLECK

Allright, great job sir!

You guys will appreciate the work you will see. Fleck is "old school" and has been doing this for longer than he wants to admit :)

He will tell you how good we have it today...compared to when they had to rummage through hobby store shelves looking little bits to use on slot cars.

That #3 car is bad to the bone.

Glad to see you have it working sir, I am just a phone call away if you need any more help.

Well apparently to Alvin, aka Fleck I am another of his chipmunks. These cars are brilliant performers
When they ran on the oval I was impressed with the handling and balance. Made no difference on wood or plastic these things really haul. What really surprised me was how well they handled on my routed road course. The only problem was getting the wings of the sprint car under the overpass.
Great old fashioned cars brought great old fashioned fun. Cant remember the last time I saw 2:00 am while running slots.
Thanks Fleck

Yea Fleck calls his stuff junk but most guys would give their left , well you know. Anyway as far as I see it he is truely a master builder and his junk runs and handles every bit as good as it looks. Your the man in my book FLECK.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the kind words. The wheels on the 35 sprinter are my wheels. I have backs to : 1/2" X1/2".
The pro tracks on the car were around when I built them. .875 dia. tire seems right for 1/32scale rears.
The fronts are 1/4" wide x.750 dia. I also make solid wheels for the 60's coupes and coaches. I use the
them on the reading heavies also. I will try and post some pictures of all the wheels .
The sprint car frames are .031 brass plate, bars and cage are .047 brass and music wire. I will post some
pictures of sprint car frames.Llike I said in an earlier post I am in the process of redesigning my vacuum
former. It turned into a science project. I have all the molds done for the coupes and coaches. I have
molds for all the reading still cars in coupes and coaches. There are three different sprint car molds also.
I was raised in south eastern Pa. In the 60's all I did was go to the dirt tracks including Reading. Reading
really screwed me up!!!!!!!!! I never recovered.
I had issues with drag strips in the 60's and built drag cars and raced them which I still do! Thats a story
for another time.
Thanks again for the interest and I see the chipmonks I hang out with have already been on here. Hope-
fully I can answer all your questions.

So on these racers where are you getting the bodies? Any interiors or I guess some mesh would work also? Nice rides!

HRW,

Here is the latest version of sprint car chassis with floating cage. Early versions did not have
this and it made aworld of difference in how they handle! I will post earlier versions at a later date.

Thanks guys,

I have heard that out of control comment before! Ha!Ha! The bus does get out of control in the
Skunk works (Basement). A lot of you guys seem to have the same problem. I have been at this for
a little while. I tried to shake awhile back more than once. One of the chipmonks wondered into
my basement when I was in my getting rid of stuff mode and talked me into keeping the track and
I started to play with this stuff again and the started again nightmare . He asked me where I got it all? The answer is I made it. Somebody posted they wanted to know where the bodies came from. We Vacuum
formed them all off resin molds they we made. I am in the process trying to redesign my vacuum
former it turned into a science project. Hopefully it will be finished soon. The plate in my head shifted
and I took it all apart and decided to make it better! Ha!Ha!
If I can help anybody with tech stuff or whatever I will try. Most of whatever I do has been trail and
error. A lot of trial and error.

Thanks for your support,
FLECK
