Nice work Dan, body weight is a big plus.

Wondering what you are doing for a driver figure and interior tray?

Cheers

@ Munter - will make a shallow driver tray from .015 sheet styrene and mount a driver figure from the Fujimi Drivers kit that I just picked up at a recent model swap meet.

Started on a dedicated chassis.

Image

This one's more piano wire than the Tiger's. Main rails and front axle uprights are .055" wire with guide tongue and rear crossmember made from .032"x .75" brass sheet. Motor mount's the JK off set one, .75" wide.

Spent some time getting it "flat and square" as emphasized by Chrisguyw. All four wheels/tires sit solidly on the surface at the same time.

Wheels are Mitoos five-spoke 17.5 x 10 and 19 x 10.5 rims, front and rear, with Scale Auto 24 x 10 tires all around.

Chassis's rolling.

Added .032 pans . Powered with a boxer 22K motor from an All Slot F1 purchase. Gearing's 2.89:1 with Slot It 9t pinion and 26t offset crown gear.

Body's mounted and sits a little higher than with the Tiger's chassis.

Used a single post up front and two at the rear.

Has a nice solid feel on my test track. Will get a better read after a run on Luf's Big Targa this Friday before regular racing.

On to some body work.

That certainly looks the part, nice work!!

Can you take a picture of it next to the Mini? Wondering how much bigger it is.

Hi Lou,

Mini measures 4.75" in length and the 510 is 6.25".

Thank you Dan, love them both!

If you decide to make the Datsun available, I’m definitely interested eventhough I don’t know when I’ll get to it... :D

Been awhile but got some progress.

Sprayed on Tamiya TS-16 Yellow on the body and detailed with Tamiya acrylic black, aluminum, gray, clear red and orange.

Another 10 foot paint job but I'm fine with it.

Interior tray/driver figure and windscreens are to come.
