Yeah, well, remember that there are different formulas for figuring horsepower in electric
and internal combustion engines ( and still another one for steam engines ). That being said,
electric motors have full power through the entire RPM range, they don't peak at a specific
RPM. That means that you have full power the second you hit the accelerator. I hate the
thought, but electric cars are the future. There are already hybrids in racing.

Stu Koford has a Tesla sports car, and although I have never ridden in it, others who have
say the acceleration is phenomenal. It is continual with no breaks for shifts and no peak-out.

Dave, why do you hate (strong word) to see electric cars in the evolution of racing vehicles? I thought a big part of racing was to incorporate new technologies. Without innovation and change you have stagnation and that isn't racing. Besides, there will always be vintage racing for cars that have become competitively obsolete.

I love the sound of a V-8 or V-12 cranked up to 8500 rpm or more. The silence of an
electric motor just doesn't kick start my heart.
