Allslot F1 debut

I built a white kit, painted it purple and applied the gold Lotus decals. The only change I made was to replace the existing meat on the rear wheels with Slot.it F1 as per our club rules. The track is a 97 foot six lane nonmag mdf running at 13.8 volts. With this being the debut I had no idea what to expect. To say I was pleased would be a gross understatement. The car was not the fastest on the straights but it certainly knew how to get around the turns. A pleasure to drive and set a new one lap record and eclipsed the old total laps record by over 2 complete laps. I was so impressed with the performance I have another on the bench ready to be assembled.

I'm not familiar with this brand of slot car. One of our club members has an MDF 3 lane track that is modeled after Monaco. I will have to check them out. Thanks for sharing your findings and I too would love to see some photo's.

I took a look at their site. The cars are a little pricey was my first impression.But after looking a little closer, aluminum wheels on all four corners,(NSR?) a motor pod that appears to have suspension, some very realistic 2012 body moldings, and a 22K motor for around $80.00, not too bad if it performs well on wood. I've got close to $70.00 including the car in some of my Scaley F-1's and no suspended motor pod or aluminum front wheels. I may have to take a harder look at one of these.

This is great news! I'd only seen one other report on these cars, and things were certainly not that perfect, but the reviewer did like the car.

A F1 car meant for wood is something that the hobby has needed for a long time. Thanks for reporting!

Just spent another 10 minutes working on the car and 5 minutes running it.

I removed some material on the bottom of the guide (it was hitting the bottom of the slot at certain spots around the track). I also removed some material from the front suspension thingie, where the axle meets the plastic. This way, I'm sure the front axle spins freely. I also put some oil on the front axle where it goes through the chassis.

From 6,892 seconds, I went down to 6,649 seconds on my track. :dance: I think it's the fastest lap so far on this track. As a reference, the fastest car from last year's CanAm proxy race qualification was Smokeio's with a time of 6,795 seconds, also on silicone Super Tires. Later, I'll try to replace the original rear wheels with CB Design F1 wheels. I'm pretty sure I can gain another tenth with those. Stay tuned!
