Well lookee at what the postman brought today! The kit on the left is the highly prized and pricey Monogram "Hot Shot" Midget body kit that was built to provide the option of converting it to a slot car. The kit on the right is the 1995 reissued "Midget Racer" which is nearly TWICE the size of the hot shot version. It is not eligible for this proxy. It CAN be converted to a slot however and I've seen some nice examples on the 'net.

I'm really looking forward to building up the hot shot. I got the "Midget Racer" cheap and will primarily use it for parts. The driver is actually smaller than the one in the hot shot version!!!! :roll:



These babies ain't cheap. They are presently going for $100 plus on ebay!!! Compared to this, the Revell and AMT kits are real bargains!!

So what is a good source out there for wheels and tires..?

I may end up making my own tires, but I need some wheels to fit the scale of these cars..

I tried using the SCC 15x7 and 15x8. The 15x7 is pretty dang close and the availability of them is why I went with them.
Earlier in this thread I showed the measurements.

But these other guys have been doing this longer and know a lot more about the other sources.

Okay, so where are the cars gents? We've got a bunch of names but only two or three people posting the progress on their entries.

Let's see some cars and progress reports from the rest of you!

Oi vey! Your killing me Jeremy. That's the post I was referring to when I said two or three guys are posting the progress on their cars. We've got 16 names and I've seen work or cars from maybe 6 people (including me!).

Just trying make sure that this thread stays up to date as guys from other sites will probably look here first to see what everyone is up to.

Hi Jimmy,

Sorry, but I'll need to add your name as an alternate. We were originally going to limit the number of entries to 12 but due to my faulty math and inability to keep all the names straight, it was expanded to 15. I don't want this get unweildly for our two hosts so I can't in good faith add any more names unless someone drops out.
