Harry,
Let's just say my slot car budget for 2013 has taken a large hit.
Dave "The Pusher Man" Kennedy showed that Carrera has listened to it's customers and brought out 3 (?) new Cheetah liveries. A yellow one, a lime green one and a polished aluminum one. I'm sure at least one of those will wind up in my stable.
Being one that never rests, Dave also showed me a blue with white racing stripe Cobra coming down the pike. I'm sorry but that is just too much to resist.
Going for the third strike, the BMW M3 Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft looks awesome. I know on my 1/43rd "Martin's-Ville" circuit, these cars are a ball to race. So why not try them on Palm Bay at our club?
But I must say the "Coup de Grace" that Dave showed later in the program was this:
After going through that, I have Maurizio and his minions putting out photos of come new iron to come down the pike. I know there will be at least one of the new McLaren M8s in my collection. Also the Matra that was sprung on us without prior leakage is an awesome move in the right direction in my opinion.
Porsches - you never have enough of them! The IMSA variant - as raced at Daytona is probably going to be bound for the pit box. Coca-Cola is a great looking livery. Another Group C car that will find a home is the Denso Toyota 88C. If you look close at the rear end of the car, you will notice it is a true 'short tail'. I noticed this when building one of their white kits. I can really make one of those Toyota 88Cs really rock on our club tracks. Lots of good things about this particular model. Yep, you can't have enough Toyota 88C models.
It sure is a fine thing to see manufactures that are watching sales to determine what it's customers want.
