Hey all,
I posted this in the "Oval Racing" forum but thought I'd put it hear as well.
It's official, the 2013 Midget proxy is on!!! All cars must be at least loosely based on the Monogram "Hot Shot" model from the 60's. Available car bodies include (but are not limited to) the following:
Original Monogram kit
BigDonkeyResin Midget body kit
EJs Midget kit
Modified AMT Sprint kit
Revell Midget/Offy body kit
Chassis of your choosing, same with motor, tires should be urethane or rubber. The hosts (Jeremy aka Bibbster) and Harry both have very nice oval tracks available for this event. Jeremy even has a road coarse that will also be used to test our creations! The first heats will take place on March 30 @ Jeremy's. All cars should be in the mail no later than March 15th. Oh yeah, only one entry per person!
Prize: Bragging rights as the winner of the first ever Midget Proxy!!!
Fee: Whatever it costs to mail your gem to Jeremy's place!
The participants as of today, 1/31/2013, are:
Harry
Jeremy
Carl
Pete
Tubby
Don
Scott
Tom
Paul (me)
To keep it manageable, we'd like to limit the number of entrants to 12. So we are close to the limit. If you want in, please let us know asap!
I'd like to hear from anyone else who would care to participate and if you have any ideas for rules, body/chassis sources, please share.
I'm presently working on one more source for resin body kits and will keep you posted if this turns out to be a reliable source.
To kick it off, here's a cool build thread I found on a Aussie website:
