Avanti Dirt Tracker

Many years ago, I vowed to build an Avanti stocker after seeing a Sketchpad article in Scale Auto Entusiast (now Scale Auto.) The recent AMT re-release has been acquired by TheBoyz in the Nerf Fab Shoppe and they plan to deviate from their 1/43 UK banger vehicles to construct this 1/32 blast from the past.

As one can see from the 1/43 forum, the Jehu Speedway is keeping me busy but I have an SCX chassis that is just right for the Avanti. It may be a project for May. Sure wish I could see that issue of SAE, but I do recall it was done in Davey Allison's Havoline livery.

Thanks for photo and references, woodman! Dillon Enterprises built the 28 for the "24 Hours of Daytona" competition but the set-up is somewhat similar to what I remember from the SAE oval track rendering! The radius-ing of the wheel wells depicted in the photo help immensely...
