Had to see how it'd look with the wheel inserts before more body work.

Stock Slot It Ferrari 312 at the front and filed down rears mounted into Slot It F1 rims. Works for me.

Thinking of a Camel yellow paint job with appropriate sponsor decals.

Dan,

Do your plans call for sidepipes?

In my opinion, the car is screaming, "I want sidepipes like a Cheetah!"

Hi Marty,

Never thought about side pipes. Might be a good idea as they`d cover the exposed chassis side pans.

Thanks for that.

You could make them out of brass and solder them to the edges of the pans.
Even before Marty mentioned that, I thought it has a bit of a Cheetah look to it.

See you tonight,

Jumped on the side exhaust detail after seeing the Monogram Corvette Gran Sport's treatment. Cut and bent some 1/8" brass tube and 3/32" rod.

I like it. Just need to firmly secure and hollow out exhaust ends.

Thanks Marty for the idea and Keith for the suggestions.

The side pipes really worked out well.

Sprayed on Tamiya fine white primer.

A little bit more sanding and then Camel Yellow final coats.

Looking great Dan , and I too think, the side pipes add to the racey look.

Going to vacuum form front and rear screens from originals. First time trying so this might take awhile.

Pleased with build to date.

Cleaned up the plaster plugs for the front and rear screens.

Going to Luf's tomorrow to use his nice vacuum machine. It's a beauty from Micro Mark.

Fingers crossed.

Got to Luf's and vacuum-formed windscreens of different clear thicknesses.

Image

I prefer the thick one. Test fitted and they're not perfect but acceptable. Will get them in place and finish with an interior driver's tray.

Had a chance to run it on Luf's Targa Burnaby and managed a 7.95 second run, good enough to keep up with some slower Slot Its. I think some additional lead sheet may give me an improvement.
