What guide to use with Brass builds

Mike,

I've used a lot of those nose pieces and you have to grind off the brass around the hole to make them work. Not sure about the hole size for the Slot and Delvis 3D guides as I always use a Parma or JK 1/24th scale guide flag when I used that nose piece. You might have to size the hole down with brass tubing to fit the 1/32nd scale guide flags.

I'm pretty sure those nose pieces are left over from the 60's or at least copies of the Cobra nose piece from the 60's.

I use the ScaleAuto #1603 guides as they are good value and never break.

But Pappy is 100% correct.

On my builds, I make my own guide tongues using tubing or stacking brass channel to create a taller mount for the screw type guides.



Just a simple brass strip with some tubing. Then drill the hole.

Thank you both for that. Pappy, I didn't think about simply trimming the tongue down. ( what I get for thinking about this while at work).

HRW, I like your option even more as I can use what I've got. I will try that on the next chassis I start. Probably for the Sportsman Proxy! :)
