Frankly both of them are silly fast, and without sacrificing the expense in buying them followed by replacing the motors, they barely register on my radar. Who really wants a car that does a scale 700mph that costs twice the price of a very good scale slot car? That's not a model, that's a stunt. As I said before many times, cars so fast that they are most at home on a commercial track are interesting, but this is HOME Racing World, right?

Tell me what you think. This has come up before on various places on HRW, and as far as I know, we never really came to any conclusion, if there is one to come to. Its the luxury of the extraordinarily wide selection of equipment and everything else that we have today, that there is a spot for just about anything.

i only have the NSR version. it is a very nice car. the only issue i had with mine was that the crown gear was quite noisy and rough feeling. i installed spacers to set the gear mesh (rather than relying on the motor shaft) and it totally transformed the car. now it is super quiet and great handling.

Well, my track/raceway is sort of half way between a home layout and a commercial track. It's a little to big to fit in most houses but not big enough to be taken seriously as a commercial track. It is also Scaley sport plastic sectional track, but has a commercial grade power supply and we use commercial type controllers. The power supply can be set from 0 to 20 volts and we use different power settings for different types and brands of cars. I like running most all brands and types of cars, but some are just not suited to the type of track I have.

Now to the subject of this thread, the NSR and Slot.It Audi R18. I haven't bought either yet but I probably will get the Slot.It version. I agree that it is most likely way too fast to run at 14v on a 20 to 30 foot home track so I think people like Waytomuchintothis would be happier getting the Carrera version. But on my 65' scaley sport track set at 11v these new anglewinder slot.Its with magnets in place are a blast to drive. They remind me of 1/24th flexi's with hawk motors and GT bodies.

I like the fact that companies such as NSR and Slot.It are making fast slot cars. They may not be right for some people on some tracks but apparently they have a sizeable following, even with members of HRW.

I probably like a lot of others,,,, have a mix of different manufacturers cars. I buy a car if I like it or if it is a series I am collecting.
Now as far as slot-it or the nsr cars , price point leans me toward slot-it, but I love the nsr moslers and ford gts.
What I do is keep a parts tray for each car I have and when racing at home I swap out the motor with the BWA
S cans or a ninco
Where required. That way can enjoy them at home. When I head out to a commercial track which isn't very often,
I simply swap the motors back and race tune the car. At home I use variable power supply so I guess I could turn the voltage down, but at 11 volts most cars are a pleasure to drive , even the remotored ones.
The only cars I try to stay away from are the front motored cars as for some reason they are my Achilles heel.
I run wood so mags only add weight. I guess it boils down to personal preference and purpose.
ie, home racing or commercial .

I like all of them for what they bring for others.

For my money, Slot.it is just fine. I like NSR, good product for the folks that want them. Aside from my new P68, they just don't make a lot for me to invest in them heavily.

Great fit and finish on them, even though the car isn't my cup of joe.

Agree with Chappy too...I just remotor models to suit my track and style.
