the polish finish

I was looking through the Clear coat thread or applying future and I noticed it mentioned about polishing the cars after the clear coat etc.
My Questions are
1, What polish is used over the future or other clear coat.
2, what polish is best for shining up a used car without clear on it , just a box stock car.
3, What compoundmis recommended for removing small scratches on the bodies of box stock cars to get them looking new again, and then what polish formthe shine.

For your older bodies that are molded with the color I use Meguiars PlastX. Used on some F1 Ferrari's from the 60s and just amazing stuff. Have not tried it on painted bodies. Says to use on Plastic Headlights, Plastic boat windows, Convertible windows, Hard plexiglass surfaces, and scratched CDs. Makes old bodies look new HMMMM.

Thanks lads, I will give these a try, and let you know what I think.
I make a habit of running every car I have at least once a year, and tune and lube as required, but I got thinking along with the general cleaning , a little body attention would help too.

Bob, I do the same thing with many of my cars. I usually call it The "Dustoff" on the forum.

Mostly I break the car down and one of the steps is washing the body in lukewarm water using Dawn dish liquid.
I use a small soft bristle paint brush to get into the smaller nooks and crannies.

I usually don't need to Future an older car, just using the polish shines them up nicely. I am sometimes too sentimental and when I have a car that has had some "battle scars" I usually do not want to try and remove it :)

I know exactly what you mean Harry, they are marks of pride.
I do find as each year passes it takes longer to give the cars a good clean and run though.
Maybe a sign of too many cars????? Naw. I must be getting slower is all. Lol

I was watching the news this morning and saw an add for a product called the scratch doctor.
It appears to be a liquid polish and rubbing compound combined.
It is used on 1:1 cars to remove scuffs and light scratches, and leave a shine.
Has anybody experience with this, as I would like to bring some life back to some of my old RTR racers that have been through the race wars.
