Thanks folks. I'm really pleased with how this came out. I'll be taking it to the track tonight for testing. I do have one mod to make before then....I'll have to "tube" the front axle as I'm getting some intermittent interference with the wiring above the front tires  . Definitely gives me another in my fleet that is unique! OK, DR, where's that Corvair?

Well I tubed the front axle and took it racing with me last night. The NC14 was the perfect choice for this car, just slightly quicker than an MT5 on 12vdc. While it doesn't keep up with the RTR cars of its class on the big 88 foot Carrera track it sticks like glue and there is no weight added. This will be perfect on a home track (which is where most of my cars are intended to be run). I normally don't mention the road test on my builds but this one just did great! :banana-dance:

Dave thats great news, nothing like the satisfaction of a well performing car that you have built yourself. Just watching my scratch builds do laps makes me happy.
How did it look with thos lights going around the track I bet it was great.
