My car made it back. Tires look pretty good. They wont make another proxy im sure but will work good on my home oval. :).

Well, I got my car today.
After everyone said their tires were worn out, I checked mine.
They were worn only .005" from when I sent the car.
Even wear both sides.
What I thought was interesting, the inside of the body was full of tire dust.
Must have picked it up from the tracks?

In thinking about the tire wear a bit this weekend - it would be interesting to hear which cars had PGT tires and which had XPG tires to see if the XPG examples are the ones that showed the significant wear - or if the wear was more tied to chassis design?
I know personally, I ran PGT (those are the 40 shore compound) and they show very minimal wear after the 800 plus laps. :think:

Todd I too had the PGT compound. Wear was minimal left to right .1 mm.

I didn't notice to much wear on mine. But also don't remember what I used lol. I'm pretty sure it was the pg tires.

Todd, I used xpg's on mine, but i build on the heavy side. I almost always wear out my right rear on my cars fairly quickly.
It does make sense that a softer tire would wear faster. My right rear was shot. have not measured it yet, but there is a LOT missing in the overall height of the tire.

Well, everybody knows by now that one of mine was intentionally heavy as a lead... car. I used PGT on both cars and the wear is no different (minimal) from the lightweight car I did for the same competition.

XPGs on the Galaxie, treadwear difference left to right was noticable but not so bad that they can't be trued up evenly to use again. But I know mine was much lighter than Waytoo's.

Looks like we proved Paul's comments about the XPG's from his eBay page in this series guys! :)

"XPG" my newest blend for competition at the extreme level, Extra Soft Shore A30 for smooth wood or plastic tracks, call it a qualifying or sprint tire.

A great comparison of tire wear between the two compounds! :D

I would think that the VNFR would be considered "competition at the extreme level"! the Mod wars cars are another series that will be showing up some soft tire wear! wait till these tire results come in!
