Awesome work guys , I wonder how it would look with a Dago ed front end. In the old days in 1 to 1 the outer edges of the axle was raised up a little to lower the front of the car. I think you might be able to bend the brass just enough. But not having done it I'm only guessing . I want to try this for my jalopy's too . Looks easy in the pictures but I know it's not. Keep us posted please.

Charlie, I cant answer for Dave, but a dropped axle set up would be very hard to do. this stuff is so small, that clearances are very tight, and there is not much area in scale to do this. Lazer cut pieces would work for that, but we are trying to design a set -up for the home scratch builder. The other thing being, most old Jalopy's and modifieds didn t use a dropped axle for ground clearance reasons, matter of fact, a lot of them used a straight tube home made front axle, ala Sprint car style. especially when the Original axle assemblies started drying up.

Don't know if my old eyes work good enough to build something like this.
A hundred years ago I built one with suspension, but I musta' been 13 yrs. old & could see without bright sunlight & mags.
As long as your're this far, you might think about adding some camber (both positive & negative if it's an oval car)
Take a close look at the Nascar boys fronts some time & check the lean on the wheels. They even heat the rear housings to add camber to
the rear & hope the axles don't break.
On the 1:1's when the front steers it raises the positive side of the chassis & loads the opposite rear wheel.
The amount depends on how much camber is built in.
I don't know if that would work with slots without some sort of rear suspension, but maybe if the rear tires
are soft enough & can compress.
