Not for everyone, for sure! FINISHED!

These are not everyone's cup of tea, so to speak, But I like them a lot! David (Wolsley hornet) sent two of these to me because they are near impossible to find in the states. When they are available, the price is ridiculous!
So being the Casting fool that I am, I made a mold using the very last silicone I had before it went bad. and re-popped them in resin. Now the really cool part! I have a bunch, and I mean a bunch! of 1/43rd scale cars that I use for the midgets. I found that if I cut off one side of the front of the chassis, and replace the axle with a screw to hold the one front wheel on, it works perfectly!
Bottom line is, I can have as many liveries of these as I want, and can now turn My road course into the"Isle of man" every once in a while. TT500 Sidecar racing at its best! and they only cost me about $4 to build each! Here are some preliminary pics of the build, and early stages of construction. even if you don't like bikes, ya gotta admit this is cool!

What a brilliant idea,Bob.

I'm sure yours will go better than the originals. They need a bit more weight over the back wheels, and for preference, silicone tyres.

If they really get under your skin, you might like to consider a scratch-built chassis; the very first Triang/Scalextric ones (which I had as a kid), had belt drive to the rear wheel, and to my recollection went better than these do - but when they appear on e-Bay, they bring really crazy money!

Great use of the old 1/43 chassis.. and interesting subject matter.

For such short money they'd be great to have several for guests to play with..
I remember way beack when, one of the club divisions around here used to be Ninco Karts and they were awesome..
I think these would fit that same type of small scale fun~

David, I will keep looking for the old hurricane and tornado bodies also. I can do the same thing to them if I can get a body. I cast the helmets in the same mold, just not connected to the drivers, so it all self contained. I really appreciate these! and we will have a lot of fun with them. I may consider a brass chassis for them at a later date, for now, these run really nice at 8 volts on the road course.

" apes, rear fender looks brit, but no rib? forward controls and a weld on hardtail? or jammer frame.

Bob, are you talking about the old hornby Hurricane and Tornado that had a front skid instead of a front wheel.

I totally agree Harry, I like having a diverse collection of stuff to race, and these little gems are very fun. and kind of a renewable resource if they get broke, "or Shotgunned"
