Derby City Small Scale Racing

I`ve always had a love for the little cars I assume because that is what I spent allot of time playing with in my younger years. You can have a modest track and just have a great time not racing, but just driving. Well I decided to commit a small space to give it a shot with our local 1/32 club guys, and since I have put this small track together, I`ve had a great response from many of our guys. Russ, Keith, Guy, Kent, Myself, along with 2-3 others have broke out their old cars from day gone by and freshened them up for a brand new life. This track is a small 6`x 3-1/2` road coarse or more of a street coarse since we mainly run street cars.

I am building a 6' oval using o gauge Aurora track for the Die cast cars. Basicly slowing them down like we do the bigger cars so the are a bit more interesting. Using tyco curve hugger chasssis and AutoWorld afx chasis for these.

Mark I always thought you were an HO guy at heart. Sweet looking layout, I like the way you used the Atlas trick pieces, Nice looking cars also. The only thing that surprises me is that you had 6 X 3 1/2 feet of room downstairs. Hillbilly

I haven't been driving on that track much, but when I'm driving on Mark's 1:32 track, it's fun just to turn around and watch the little cars run. The layout is super cool, and in typical Mark fashion, very high quality. Just the sound of the little cars brings back memories from when we were kids. Awesome. :)

It's been my hope that 1:43 would go this way. There is so much good 1:43 diecast out there, and the cars would drive so much more like the big cars.

Appreciate everything you've shared. Can't stop staring at the '65 Chevy (and the '62 and the '57). Big car looks, big car handling.....in a small space. WOW!
