Monogram Ferrari Rebuild

Have had this model for a long time and decided to try rebuilding it.



Starting with the BRM wheels from Cloveleaf, I will try my own chassis.

Always liked this model but wanted it to run smoother and the old gear is worn out so time for a change.

Hopefully I can make it run again.

Great body, no painting necessary, beautiful BRM wire wheels, and a scratch built chassis. My kind of build. Get out the honeycomb board, and soldering iron, eh? And the camera, Keep the build pics coming.

4RE 275P; one of my all-time favorite cars; right after the 250 LM and the 330 P4. This will be a great car when you get the chassis built. Can't wait to see it take shape.

Nice choice for a rebuild Harry.
I'm sure you will get a nice looking well behaved racer out of it..
The Rev Monos were not easy to tune , at least by our club rules, but
when they are tuned, they are a blast to run.
Well that is if you like tail out cornering lol.

I've got mine running pretty well, but nothing like I know this is going to turn out like! Those wheels are gorgeous!

My method so far is not going to impress anyone I can tell you that.

But I am just trying new things as I go.





Tack soldered the motor, added a light stabilzer. Most don't like soldering to the motor can, but doesn't take much.

Like I said, nothing impressive. But have to try different approaches once in awhile.

I have 2 of those on the bench, so don't worry. Plenty old jalopy's coming.

You can't go wrong with those BRM S110 and S111 wire wheels. They're the best looking after-market wheels in my opinion.

Others make wire wheels, but BRM adds the matte black finish on the wheel behind the spokes to create the illusion that there is no flat hunk of metal back there. Others' wheels, such as Racer's WR1, don't do that and they tend to look a little cheesy in comparison.

Are you keeping the stock BRM tires, or going with something else? If you're changing them out, can you give a part number? Thanks.
