SCALEXTRIC #3303 FORD FALCON XB GT Hardtop...

Postby Cosmic Bilby » Fri Dec 07, 2012 5:15 am

G'day Guys,

...Here is the drum on the new XB GT hardtop from Scaley for those that are interested....

....I got some info from an "insider" from the UK today regarding the release date for this model.

It was originally slated for a December release, amex that, it will be a mid-January release....

Its coming, it will be here, but just a few weeks late.

Personally, the thought did cross my mind that some wag on the production line may have tampered with the driver figures and stuck left over EWOK heads on the first batch off the production line....

....Hey, if it was another Mr. Blobby run I'd risk my job to do the Ewok thing as well, dont you worry!

I saw that also - apparently dock date for the Falcon is Dec 24th in the UK.

Have there been any pictures of the model yet?

Any idea when others will be released? I don't like the first paint job they chose. A "white body" kit would be really nice.

....No pictures of the model as such yet.

No idea of when other liveries will come out either, I'd expect a release schedule similar to the L34 Toranas....

Patto's has got decals listed though, I'm thinking of doing a re-paint to a John Goss XB, that is a nice looking XB!

Yes,

I'd say Armchair has the inside running on this Scaley project :)

9 is the number, I think John Goss had the #1 for that year (not certain so dont hang me if I'm wrong, K? :) ).

Really looking forward to this model, can't wait, and by the looks of things Scaley will deliver pretty darn close to their initial release date....

Van Gizzy's leaving V8's full stop isn't he?
Young bloke is a bit homesick, wants to go back to NZ and ride his quadbike.
Pity, I always liked watching the "wild child" when he had the red mist come down.

Good news on the big Moffat Falcon, at least they got the number right for Bathurst 76 now.

I believe Adrian Norman of Scalextric has confirmed that the XB will be #9 and not #1 as first announced. And it is most definitely the XB not the XC that some have reported it as.

As much and all as I love the XB, I wish they'd chosen the Phase 3 instead. :( Still, I guess we can be thankful they're finally taking notice of this little country down here.

Mmmmm,

I've gone off the Scaley V8 Supercars a bit I must admit...

...I had them all, a beautiful collection, I suppose you can only do so much to them really...

All 33 Piggy's went to EBay and made some nice dollars for us, there is something seriously wrong with people when they pay over $280 for a model that doesn't even have an interior (weird)....

The FG is the pick of the V8 Supercar evolution though, its the fastest chassis by a fair margin, a nice thing to race, but as I'm finding out, their are other classes of that style of model that are as much fun (and the cars are as fast or faster than the Scaley Supercars) :)

Nice livery, crazy driver, he and young Moffat are just plain wild things, no doubt about that!!!

Yeah will be interesting to see if they go ahead with that livery.

The Phase three would be Awesome as well Ember, that's for certain, imagine all of this era of Aussie cars being made (inc. the two door Torana!)???

The XB Falcon is the sort of model that gets me coming back to Scaley, they do make some really great models at times. And yes it probably won't be total perfection, but at the end of the day, what high volume 1/32 scale manufacturer gets things a 100% right all the time?

My personal opinion is that if I know what the model is supposed to represent and it looks halfway decent, its good enough for me :)

I know someone who owns one. I was at the Shannon's auction when he bought it. I just didn't realise I knew him at the time of its sale. Oh the fun of fora.

I think that would make a decent Mad Max car.
