I was only able to watch the one "heat"; from the looks of my laps and times, the white whale did a few more "barrel rolls" besides the one I witnessed. Was hoping to do a bit better against Bob T! :D

Thanks for the live video though I missed my car, oh well. Right now running 4th that's a good thing. Hopefully it can move up in the remaining heats. Have fun.

Loved that monster, Bob. It reminds me of a lot of crazy things people built in the mid 60s. With 18v of truck batteries for power on the commercial tracks, you could run any number of those old Mabuchi motors. It also reminds me of a tractor pull car that I saw a year or two ago with a whole bunch of motors geared together.

Gameover, those 60 Furies are really narrow at the back. I expected mine to be "Roll Over Beethoven" but in testing it slid to the side nicely.

Dave, did you post the weights of the cars? I didn't see it, but would be curious to compare weight to performance.

I miss all the second half of the Ustream and my car didn't do as well as the first lane. I will be watching tonight.

Its funny that the guy skilled enough to dream up and build that monster chassis didn't know to make the dual rear as counter-rotational and have the rear axle in two parts so it isn't self-defeating. There was a rash of these in the 1960s in the slot car magazines. Several of them worked great. I did a counter-rotational dual rear for the Land Speed Record in Cincinnati and got 3rd, I think?, that year. I copied what I did from old magazine pictures.

It looks like both of my experimental jobs were dogs for this one. I really miss having a track. I'm working blind here until I get that taping finished.
