Lime Rock Park scoring tower Version 2

Dad told me this part took some time with a few re-draws etc to get it all lined up..

That said, WOW.. check out the stairs that go from ground level up to the main floor.. So Cool!

This is the small ground level 'room' that houses the stairs and storage.. The things on the walls are
bulletin boards my Dad took pictures of when we were there, so he shrunk down those pics and installed them.






Here it's getting glued in to place..you can also see the pillar supports in place now too..




..and now the building is flipped back over and you can see how the stairs come up into the main floor..




And here's the view from 'ground level' first in version 1, then the new version.. Unreal.

Todays update is on the stairway that comes up to the main floor and the walls surrounding that..

Dad added a half wall to the stairway opening, and built the main floor walls that go around the opening..

Every time Dad sends me update pictures I have to remind myself that it's being made out of little 2 inch match sticks.. So Cool!

Short update today.. 2 pictures with all the exterior half walls installed.

Time for an update as the roof and tower room come together...

First, the supports for the finished roof.



These stay attached to the main floor of the building and give the finished roof something to rest on when it is in place.
Here they are getting glued in to position..








While these supports were being built, Dad found an interior image we hadn't seen before that explained why a door wasn't
visible that we could see in other pictures but didn't make sense.. hard to explain, but now the interior of the scoring room
on the main floor is correct and has a closet accessed from the rear walkway. Dad also plans to build the benches and
countertops that are available for press and scoring folks to use during races..
This is the picture he found.. note the arrow pointing to the wall jutting in.. covers the door that is visible from the
walkway in the rear. It’s closet space, so Dad made a closed closet door and built in that space.






Next is the framework for the roof itself and supporting floor for the tower room..











..and finally for tonight, the parts that make up the tower room, and the completed assembly.










Will most likely be after Christmas when the next update comes.. Lots of inner roof structure
to build, and the roof panels themselves.. Coming out amazing though~!

Some staggering work there! Amazing, i've been inside that tower many times and you're really capturing the feel of it. Why are you building this? Is it for the track to display?

The original was extremely impressive. This one is just so many levels up on that it's just impossible to convey.
