Penelope Pitlane Clubman chassis with FF motor

This is a small chassis designed for small saloons. It is intended that a FC motor type be used but I have put an FF motor in. If the motor uprights are left flat the FF motor sits down and meets the axle nicely. A motor plate needs to be made up first.
I have never used a PP chassis before but this runs smoothly and quietly. Next I need to sort out a suitable body.

I usually start with the body and try to find a chassis - I might adopt your approach - set up the chassis and then find a body :)

After looking at an airfix Mini body and the chassis i would say yes it could be made to fit.....if you could overcome some issues.

To my eye the main issues would be the rear "kick up flat" of the chassis would have to be taken off. The slot in the guide tongue would need filing back so the guide could retreat just a tad and the lock screw underneath would have to be very flat or removed if you used 13" rims and tires.ie the chassis parts would need to be soldered or glued together. Chassis width is no problem as there is another narrower line that the chassis could be folded to.

Munter, I am curious as to how wide the chassis is at the front and rear bushing uprights? I have a whole series of small saloon roadster bodies here looking for a proper chassis. I want to keep the tires inside the stock fender openings on these cars. Hence my interest in width.

Width at that point is 22mm or .86"

The chassis' come flat and you can choose width by folding on certain pre made grooves. I could fold one more time along the bushing upright line.
