I have the yellow #8 and the Gulf #9. Both of them come with the new drive motor pod that also uses all the screws on the EVO6 chassis plate.

My wires are hot glued to keep them in place. You can make the guide "center" by setting up the wires to be equal length. Just turn the guide to maximum deflection in one direction, then pull the excess wire back into the chassis. Then do the other side. Once you get it so the guide will self-center, then warm up the hot glue gun and put a drop on the wires by the first retainer just behind the front axle. Works for me.

A lot of the tuning here is very close to the same for other classics in the series. The article will grow over time, so might become more of a coma-inducer than it is now.

I've never seen the silver/gray ford GT #40. Is that a Slot.it? When was it released? Is it still available? I think it is a great looking car and I want one! And since I have all the other models (that I am aware of) including the euro only black and orange #2, I need it to keep my collection complete.

That is a repaint from the white kit. Lee Wright did the work for me.

Here is my situation:

I run digital so a digital chip and PG tires go on the car. I don't change out the motor. Can't afford any further money in the car. However, I use SSDC software with the Scalextric 6 car advanced power base (APB). This way I can slow down the motor for each driver, not requiring a motor change.

As for the placement of the digital chip, I hot glue it to the motor just above the magnet. There is so little room in the car and this seems to work well. Not sure how it affects float but the cars run very well.
