Hard tires

I am having a hard time, no pun intended. Allot of my Artin tires are giving up the ghost and getting hard and oily.
I think I have come onto why my rear tires are getting hard, and not the front. :violence-stickwhack:
The rear tires are spinning on the track and the front only roll. The rear tires heat up as they push the car around the track. Repeated Heating and then cooling results in them hardening.
It sounds good to me. I have been switching the fronts to the rear as they get hard.
Now, I have everything I need to start making my own tires.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I start making molds on Saturday?

What hardness urethane will you use?.....20 or 30shore for the rear would be good and 40shore for fronts

The first dozen molds are in the cups. I am starting with Nascar Artin tires. A dozen should get me started.
I will make some others next week if these come out as usable. I do understand that the first casting tires are a bit sticky, but later castings come out fine.

The first dozen tires are out of the molds. Then it hit me. Figuring the amount of material needed for the molds was easy. Put the tire in the cup, fill with water until the tire is covered by 1/4 inch. Multiply by the number of tires being cast. No big deal. Now, how to calculate the amount of material necessary to make the tires. That is something different.
Any help?

The first Artin Stocker tires are on the cars. They hook up like nothing I have tried yet.
There is another batch cooking. I learned a few things with the first batch. No disaster...But the day have a few hours left.

Thanks, I used that to make the molds. There will be another style of tire to mold this weekend.
