That's easy, it's got fenders on it!

It may look better once the hood is on it and painted. But my first thought is there is to much of the front fenders missing.

I have the same model. It looks fine next to my other cars. Try looking at it with the hood on.

It is 1/24.

Not 1/25.

So it it just looks a little bigger than you might be used to.

I am doing the same right now with a 39 Chevy. After working with the 1/25th scale cars almost exclusively for a couple years, it just seems big.

John made his from that same kit and after it was finished, it looked just fine.

You can always shave a little all the way around the bottom of the body to get the body to sit a bit lower on top of the fenders and such.....

KInd of like sectioning the body by shaving the bottom of it if you get my drifted???

These cars even chopped still looked a bit top heavy because there is so much square footage on the sides of the body from the bottom of the side windows to the bottom of the body.

Chop away captain.....

The car is actually right. Everyone is use to looking at the proportions of the AMT kits. Most amt kits were done in the early 60s and most every thing was wrong. When Monogram first released this kit in the late 80's or 90's ( not for sure when) it set the standard on how kits were to be made.
This was released with the Monogram NASCAR kits and SPRINT CAR Kits. Later Amt Released ther 34 Ford 5 window, 62 Impala Super stock and Revell brought out the '32 3 window.
Parts from earlier releases from AMT and REVELL do not fit the newer cars. So Yes it might look funny but its right!!!!

Wait a second. HOLD UP please.

Rob...what is that behind it? I see big, fat tires on some wheels and the start of a body. Do I see a modified in progress? Did we interrupt regularly scheduled programming? :)

I feel a little dumb about this. There sits the chopped coupe, been there right in front of me the whole time I have been building this chassis, and when I thought the sedan looked weird, it didn't cross my mind that I had been hours looking at the chopped coupe. Duh.

I thought I'd do two for this- a big old hunky sedan and a slippery little beast to go with it. I am looking forward to doing the engines more than anything, and both of these will have lots of room to show their mill. (how long has it been since you used the word "mill" for an engine? I am getting old)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it! It looks like a nice start to an older type modified, now carry on...
