John, the chassis is elegant in it's simplicity. Just a cracker. Love the Jag too. Might have to rustle up one of those shells. In the process of putting spats on a Ninco XK120 at the moment. But, I think I need to add a hard top to the collection.

Current progress photo:


Base and chassis Ninco XK120. Spats from balsa sheet, glued in place and hardened with superglue. Filled with Tamiya putty and lots of elbow grease for sanding. Wheels BWA 15" Skinny with Paul Gage tyres to suit (Paul you're a gem! I've been chasing tyres for these wheels for a couple of years). Inserts will most likely be BWA steels but I'm hoping to find something for moon hubcaps. Slot.it axles and gears. Currently Ninco NC1 power plant but might upgrade it to an NC2.

The chassis took quite a deal of trimming to get it in under the narrowed rear. As you may tell from this, I have a bit of a problem with static. The black dust is from chassis trimming.

Original plan was for tan leather interior and possibly tonneau cover. But, I might decide to send it over to Italy for the Mini Monte Carlo Rallye, so I might rethink the tonneau idea. Currently planning to finish her in two tone silver paintwork.

Very cool, always have loved those Jags with the spats... er... skirts, whatever, on them. If you do the steelies is your artists hand steady enough to put the factory pinstripe on the wheel? Keep us in the loop!

I need about a hundred of those little bins for all my junk. :lol: They would come in handy though as long as I didn't knock them over. I need something with a lid as clumsy as I am. :shock:

Chineese carry out tubs, the plastic ones with lids, are stacked in my cave with parts and projects. I have to label them one day.

Those little food containers are great. They come in a lot of different sizes these days. And you can buy them from the local bargain emporium (helpful for those of us who don't do takeaway food). They're great for putting parts in when disassembling a car. Biggest problem I have is remembering to put the lid on the darned things. I spend so much time crawling around on the floor looking for dropped parts. Body screws should be fluro coloured to make life simpler!

That is how I do it. Tear them apart and put them in the case they came in. The Mopar on the left is only waiting on me, the Cheetah is waiting inserts for a makeover I want to try, and the Goat on the right is all spares...using what I can on the custom chassis for the body.

At least I don't lose the parts anymore :)
