Postby 32nd street garage » Thu Feb 28, 2013 8:50 pm

I have to go to Fl next week and wanted to see if there was any local shops or tracks around the Daytona area. I will be staying in Ormond beach. Thanks Glenn

Glenn.

There is a commercial slot car shop in Holly Hill which is adjacent to Daytona Beach. It is owned by a fellow named Greg Walker who is a retired SCCA driver. The business is named "The Race Place" and has a web page. They are open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM, later if they are racing. They are also open Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00PM. They have a large 1/24th scale Tri-oval which includes an infield road course, an HO track shaped like the blue king and a Scaley sport 1/32 scale road course. He also has a good stock of Scaley, Fly, Slot.It and Carrera slot cars.

Also about 30 minutes southwest of Daytona, just off of Interstate 4 I have my 1/32 scale facility called DeBary Glen. I have a four lane Scaley sport layout approximately 67 ft. long and a four lane routed mdf track which is 65 ft long. It is not a store and I have nothing to sell but visitors are welcome to come by and either run their own cars or borrow one of several of my cars I make available. My hours are flexible and I can be there pretty much whenever someone wants to visit. If you are interested you can PM me to get my cell number. I also have a thread here in the clubs section with all the relevant information.
