Yeah...looks great man. Seriously & I'll stop saying this soon, like now maybe but I took a little break from slots and since coming back & hanging out here, I absolutely notice a serious upswing of the scratch built thing. Y'all have skillz!

I'm not sure where you get them anymore but K&S sells a bag of odd ball pieces of tubing and rods in all kinds of sizes and shapes. It's basically scraps to them but there are sizes in there that you'll never find on a rack anywhere. They sure come in handy when scratch building chassis. I use to get them from REH Distributing in Cincinnati back when I had my raceway.

Well, finally finished my first build. Here are a few photos of the cleaned and painted chassis...

Here's what I ended up with...

I have to say that the expression "If I can do it, anyone can do it!" rings true in my case. Started out knowing zero/zilch/nada about scratch building but with the help of all the members of HRW, this was the result. AND...with the part that I got from SCC, this car runs great! Not quite ready for a proxy build, but that is my goal!

Thanks to everyone who shared words of wisdom and encouragement....

Joe, your finished chassis came out looking great! I'm no Ferrari expert, but you detailed that body nicely. I look forward to seeing your future builds. You'll only get better as your experience grows. It's a great feeling to be able to say, "I built that."

Dude! if that is your 1st go at this then we'll all in awe!!!
Very well done for even an experienced builder.
Check on the extra advise from all those comments and you will be even more proud with your next build.
Grab some axle spacers from SSC and use them to stop the rear axle moving around to maintain the best gear mesh.
Well done!!!
